Noticed on Saturday that there is a yacht close to the entrance to Woodrolfe Creek that has sunk on its mooring. Upright, but with only the mast showing. Sad, sad sight. Does anyone know who is the owner? I hope whoever it he or she knows about it. It's just upstream of the start (seaward end) of the group of small lateral buoys that mark the narrow entrance to the creek. Quite a small boat, I think, with a Firdell radar reflection on the mast.

Well, we were there on Wednesday and I'm pretty sure there was no sunken yacht near the entrance to Woodrolfe Creek then, so must have happened on Thursday or Friday.

The owner of the vessel is known to the staff at Tollesbury Marina and is aware of the unfortunate fate of their yacht.
As of Monday 20th the cause of the sinking was not known; the yacht had only recently been launched after a refit.

Thanks for this. Good to know at least that the owners are aware. Seeing that, I couldn't help thinking of our own dear old tub (40 years old and one owner) in that situation. Heartbreaking.
