Absolutely gutted . Boat went in on Tuesday and moored off the cruising club wall. Main mooring chain had moved and brought the bow onto ground, combination of strong wind and tide on Wednesday night/early hours thursday caused boat to tilt enough to let water in via engine vents. Thursday morning phone call that my boat was underwater. Absolutely pig sick. Boat was running well and looking good (dreaded Samurai engine ran sweetly). Boat now refloated and out in marina yard awaiting insurance surveyor. More than likely next Summer till I'm back in the water now and will have to bite the bullet and pay for a decent pontoon berth too. Totally, totally, fe*ked off right now.

Well they say things happen in threes. A friend of mine's yacht took on water and sank while racing on Wednesday night too. He managed to get himself and two crew members onto another yacht just before it went down. Also the P&O ferry struck the bi red harbour buoy at Troon causing around 1.5 million worth of damage. Not a good night for boating.

came over but you'd gawn

cheers Joe

Having had a boat sink on the pontoon overnight and dealt with the insurers etc make sure you have someone professional handling it from your end.
