Bob, it fell over in 2007. I wrote to Trinity House who confirmed that they will not be replacing it as it has no commercial traffic navigation use.
I would strongly suggest not using the area now, as it will now be an submerged hazard!
If you need to across, I can PM you some waypoint data for a 1.5m draft to get across the sunk, or better still, buy tillergirl's new book, he will you give you the isbn number if you PM him. Its on my christmas list.
thanks - I have some alternate routes planned - base don't friends' passages. Funnily enough they don't alwyas gree with the pilot books but look fine on the up to date charts!
Yep, be careful out there. Following the mid August gales, I couldnt follow my favourite route across to Fishermans Gat, and had to contour feel. I found water in a most unexpected place, and a lump of beach at 1/2 tide where there should have been 2 metres. In a lumpy 6 it was ermm, interesting.
