"...hath all too short a date;
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines
..."

Quite right, Mr Shakespeare.

It was a lively weekend in the Solent. We popped out on Saturday afternoon to see what was what and then back to Lymington with nothing much accomplished but for a vague sense of wellbeing.

I did notice that at one point it seemed as though one boat in three was under tow or suffering some minor or major malfunction. Sea Start must be licking their wounds today. And the vhf was busy, busy, busy with CG complaining about overspeaking and still callers were asking for radio checks.

Yesterday, we stayed on our berth and I took the opportunity to finish off a couple of minor jobs which had been waiting for a suitable moment. Oh, yes I also found time for a little snooze in the sunshine. :D

Oh to be retired when the sun shines

Yes it was an arduous weekend, having to put up with light sea breezes and lots of sunshine hours, today was almost as bad with a freshening breeze later this afternoon, but someone has to be on watch while you lot are back in the office:D

Bon Travail :rolleyes:

Agree it was quite busy on the solent and I too noticed a few boats being towed on Sunday. Decided to stay at Cowes Saturday night for the first time since Febl, and it was really busy, almost wished I hadn't bothered, as the berth in Cowes Yacht Haven meant I was bobbing around quite a bit. Anyway still enjoyed the great weekend and perhaps leave Cowes more for Winter boating in future.

I went in to Cowes today to fill up with fuel before heading back to my berth and it was like a ghost town on the river, I suspect that was a little different to the weekend! the Solent was a bit busier than usual for October, wonder how many people pulled a siky?

Quite a few judging by the number of VHF calls to marinas we monitored on our way home Sunday.

Each one said 'sorry full'
