summer cruisers net on hf radio

any thought on a summer cruisers net for this coming summer?? we are an american boat and will be sailing sardinia, west coast of italy, albania and up to venice and back before returning to tunisia for next winter -- not being very good at this i am willing to be a net controller one day a week if someone more knowledgable is going to set it up

There is a cruising net in the Med but I've never heard anyone using it, most boats in the Med don't have SSB but many long distance boats do. The frequency details are: Mediterranean Net now on a new frequency 8131 kHz 0530 GMT. I can see why it is not used even by boats with SSB, who wants to get up at 05.30 GMT.

Ask around other boats if they have SSB and you could set up a net at better time 08.30 is good, if you do it would be best to stay as net controller.
