We started our summer cruise from the mid Summer festival two weeks ago. Meant to do a post about it back then, but then ran into some technical difficulties involving a glass of juice and the keyboard of my MacBook. With the new MBP now in front of me, it’s time to do a little catch up post.
We spent the midsummer in an island called Älgsjö near Inkoo -> https://webapp.navionics.com/#boating@14&key=}qamJg_}pC. The place is very well sheltered and was also seen on one of John Boyle’s excellent video from Baltic.
The place was packed, the weather warm and sunny and the wibe was very relaxed. Kids tried SUP boards and we of course had a sauna and a nice swim. Two days passed quickly doing nothing. An excellent start to the summer holiday.
Flags are a big thing on a midsummer festival.
The atmosphere on the pontoons was very relaxed.
When then proceeded further west and spent a few nights in Hanko. Our destination, however, was still further west with a plan to cruise to Stockholm. We decided to break up the longish cruise by staying over night at Utö. It is a small group of islands in the very furthermost archipelago. It is, and has been for a very long time, a base for pilots and is also the southernmost inhabited island of Finland.
Below are a few photos from Utö. Some are frame grabs from a video I’m working on which I’ll post later.
Will return with the vid.
