Forecasters say weather will get hot - but not yet

These were the banner headlines on the front page of this morning's Western Morning News

A word of caution. These same forecasters, from the Met Office no less, also said at the beginning of the Spring that we could expect a "long hot summer".

Trying to lure the Emmets down....A bit like the Cornish wreckers in the past /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

PS In case of accusations of racism against the Cornish I hasten to add my Great Grandmother was Cornish. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Me too, the last time I left on a sailing holiday was on 14th June: it was warm and sunny, and we then spent a week in Weymouth watching seagulls fly backwards in the rain, as the waves broke over the pier. Just watch out for the 2nd week in August. WeatherOnline has been saying for a couple of weeks now that the first two weeks in August could be our official British summer. I live in hope.

I watched a met man on the TV recently. He said that no forecast of any reliability could be given beyond approx one week. The only indication of what might possibly happen was linked to the relative humidity of the soil.....

Been pretty dry over there I believe...?
