Suggestions please - bracing mast

I have installed a small mast [1.2 metres app.] on the boat to carry steaming light, vhf aerial, radar etc. The mast has a square base plate which is bolted down & a support is positioned to prevent fore & aft movement. In order to prevent strain on the base I wish to provide lateral support. It is difficult to fix mountings to the deckhead & I wish to utilise the 28mm diameter hand rails to fix the stays. I have seen a mount for a spinnaker pole which would probably do - but suitable size not available.

Any suggestions?
