We are planning our first trip to Brittany for two weeks towards the end of August.

As a family with two young teenagers, we love lunch stops at anchor, sandy beaches, exploring local markets, local food, quaint French villages, sights such as forts and interesting outside activities.

Any recommendations for places to visit? What could be a reasonable 2 week itinerary assuming the weather plays along?

What are the "must see" places?

Any ideas appreciated!

Thank you

Fuel in St Sampsons in Guernsey for fuel direct from the tanker about 58ppl Fuel Supplies then.

Carteret, St Malo lock a palapa but interesting, St Cast, St Quay-Portrieux, Binic, depending on size Ploumanach, Trebeurden and Roscoff.

For good info see the Digimap gg website on marinas an excellent impartial, free not sponsored views.

give me a pm for info if you want any more.

Somebody asked me about a trip a few weeks ago.
I had mostly the same suggestions as Bandit, but would include Perros Guirec. and Sept Isle which are stunning.
My trip from the UK would be to port hop to Salcombe then check the weather.
If it’s not good you still have loads of estuaries to explore.
If good..
Due south to....roughly....
Roscoff or Perros then port hop back to St Cast or St Malo.
Then back via CI .
Loads of interesting stuff to do and easy single tide trips.

Thank you for the responses and PMs received.

We now have a list of preferred places and things to see or do at each, even when the weather lets us down along the way.

Now, all we need is good weather...

No problem Eugene.
However Bandit may have a problem with his Norman cousins next time he is in Carteret.

Brittany starts after Granville...

I understand where the division is between Brittany and Normandy is, and near as damn it Le Mont St Michel.

In reality from a from a boating point of view we should think of the Bay of St Malo as being the cruising ground from Cherbourg to Mont St Michel to Brest and all points in between.

The Channel Islands are well placed for a stop off when coming from the Eastern Channel or from the Solent.

When entering this area for cruising one should not forget Dielette, Carteret and Granville as being nice destinations in their own right.

Totally agree and you have really good access to the nicer side of Jersey as well. Gorey. St Catherine’s and the Ecrehos.

Perros does seem to come up as a recommendation, but unless you have oodles of time I can't see why you would commit so much time to being able to get in, and probably not manage to get out again for ages!
I always reckon that you can use the time better by visiting elsewhere..but then I wasn't that excited about Perros anyway ;)
The access times just never seem to work when I pass.
