Hi folks, I've just bought a Bayliner 288 with a Mercruiser 350 MP (petrol) engine. It has no heating installed.

As it's in the UK I'm going to need heat if I want to extend the season.

Do you have any suggestions?? (no bonfires or gas bottles thanks ...!)

Thanks in advance

Have a look at these on eBay.

They come with a separate plastic fuel tank and are really rather good . No point paying extreme prices for the “normal” heaters on the market. These are an exact copy and at a 5th of the price.

Just fit a chinaspcacher with its own 10 litre tank and have done with it. Take care to install it in a place that CANNOT ever get petrol fumes in, ie not the engine bay, the same space as the fuel tank or any locker that has petrol lines going through it.

An easier and cheaper option would be to get a small fan heater and an inverter wired to the batteries, I had one on shore power for 288 classic and worked really well.
As the boat is all open plan just fit it to a 230v thermostat.
Worked really well and warmed up way faster than the diesel heaters.
