Thanks to you and Donald for the advice - most helpful. I am bare boating for a week commencing 2 June so will let you know my findings!!

During last week used The Anchor at Tarbert and had a good meal with fresh shellfish. Also ate at the Colintrave which was excellent. Even had Directors bitter (albeit at £3 a pint!).
Came acrss the Sea Food Cabin at Skipness Point ( attached to the Big House to the left of the Castle) which was suberb.
I gather it is closed on Saturdays (change over day for Holiday Cottages which they run). Talking to the owners I was surprised that they have been there some 15 years. Also they informed me that the Anchor at Tarbert had recently changed hands with the owners taking over the inn at Tayvillich.
The Restaurant at the distillery at Lochranza was also good but stop serving food at about 3.30pm I think.
Can also recommend Creelers at Brodick ( 30 minute walk North towards the Castle) for an excellent but not cheap meal, but still good vaue by English City standards!!
Hope this is of use to someone!
(PS - You still cant beat fresh caught mackeral cooked on board!).

Hope you enjoyed your trip round the Clyde. We were in Lochranza on Saturday. Ate aboard after a run ashore to look at the Hotel.

It hasn't improved in the eight years we were last there.

Colintraive is good, isn't it!
