I think the we may well head for the Orwell Saturday Afternoon.

Any one know what races the Classics will be doing then?

Who is out to play in the races?

Haven't even decided if we're going out yet /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
One minute the weather looks rough, next it's flat calm, just want it in between somewhere so we can get the main and genny tested with the new halliards on, so too much wind is a no no and no wind makes it pointless /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

We will be on the water.
We will look out for you when we come round from the Deben.
Can't get over the bar until 12ish unless it is very flat.

I'm hoping not to catch any moondancer type diseases over the weekend! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You've just got a 'new' boat; and hence you are immune (at least till the first bills come in /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif )

Great pics Clive!

And what an utterly brilliant weekend....

With a 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the three races, we managed a comfortable second overall...

Even puuling of a first round the windward mark in the 1st race, and 3rd over the line.... despite the local tuning bandits being in full flight.... superior tactics saw us cream them upwind....

Three cracking starts, including one with the kite up.... great fun, and so nice to sail with a crew of experienced sailors where everything just seemed to happen... sharp hoists, sharp drops, perfect timing on when to go from spinny to whites.... etc etc

Lovely warm weather.... 12kts (apart from the middle of the 3rd race - with 0kts!), and all done with little AJ at 7mths old smilling throughout.... we certainly won as far as the committee boat was concerned, as AJ waved at them every time we crossed the line!

Thanks Karen and Patrick... a truly brill weekend!

Super pics Clive! What a fabulous weekend, huge thanks to Karen and Patrick for letting me helm the races. It cannot go without saying what tremendous result this was for us. Vreny is run on a budget, and had the youngest crew member in the fleet! Whereas the winner was a no expense spared team, where the owner helicopters in minutes before leaving the marina, sails round with his hired guns including the best sailmaker in the country, then helicopters off as soon as they get back! So all in all a awsome effort from Karen, Patrick and guest foredeck man Neil who did a grand job, not forgetting little AJ who was good as gold all weekend.

Vreny has got the balance right in my view. Well done on your results over the weekend. Family boat, sailing with friends, just for fun - what could be better.

What is the point in having so much money and so little time that you have to fly to your boat and then fly away afterwards. Where is the enjoyment in that? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
