Suction cups and windscreens

Has anyone got the answer to making a suction cup mount for an in-car GPS navigator stay attached to a car windscreen? I have a Garmin Nuvi 660 (not cheap!) but the little bu88er keeps falling off the 'screen every couple of days. The cup is super-clean, so is the glass before I attach it. I've tried spit, a weak solution of washing detergent and using it dry; all to no avail. Please no suggestions to use Araldite, rather some other tricks I haven't tried. Cheers.

For the ultimate in immovability, use Sikaflex !

Have you tried cleaning the windscreen with a very dilute washing up liquid solution and/or alcohol wipes?

Is it possible that the cup has a small lateral scratch in it that is slowly letting air past the 'seal'.

Yes, tried all of that, as the instructions recommend. I will look for a scratch but one isn't visible with the naked eye.

A related point - one is advised to remove the satnav when parking and wipe off any sucker marks as otherwise the lower orders will break your windows to steal it.

I had one of these.
Fell off a couple of times but I found that applying a (very) positive pressure when operating the lever kept it well attached.
