Sub letting a marina berth - Devon

A friend has asked me to help to sublet his pontoon berth at Dartmouth. The berth with water and electricity can take a boat up to 42' long. It is quite cheap as a dinghy is required to get the short distance to the pontoon. There is a secure dinghy park. He is keeping his boat in France for the next few years but would like to sub let it on a yearly basis. I notice that looking at boatsandoutboards.co.uk has a marina berth on the front page. Is this a good site for berths.

Small point, but is he allowed to sub-let? What does his contract say?

Has been done in the past with no problem.
