Does the river (at Richmond) always flo "out" even when the tide is coming in? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Er ....

No , when the tide comes in the river should flow the other way , it isn't at the moment because there is an awful lot of water flowing downstream.

For sure, the flow slows down when the tide comes in when we are in 'enhanced conditions' like now , but it still flows downstream.

If the weir at Tedders is closed , and the tide comes in , you should be able to see the water flow the other way , look at the bridge supports.

Does that make any sense ?

Thanks Teddington_lock I thought it should ...I was at Richmond today at about 12 ish i could see the water rising (fairly quickly coving the steps out side The white cross pub) but the flo was still going "out".... it did look odd .... thanks again
