When using a chamois on the white gelcoat after the boat’s been washed, recently I’ve noticed that the chamois ends up being chalky white (so much so that you can only see white on the chamois where it was in contact with the boat). Also, it turns the water white when rinsed in the bucket…..so - it must be either salt, or gelcoat(!) I suppose, but which one?
Perhaps I should do some trials by washing really thoroughly first (to remove all salt) and then try the chamois - but just wanted opinions from the forum beforehand....
