Stubby hydrovane windvane.

My friends boat has a tall hydrovane windvane which hits the solar framework and would hit the wind generator. Strange considering all the items have already been on the boat for many years before he bought it. The boat is in Gosport.
A stubby windvane would probably cure this problem.
Is there anyone nearby who could loan a stubby to try it to see if it clears everything ?

Would a tape measure and some stiff card/plastic work?

I have found the customer service from Hydrovane outstanding and am sure they will give you dimensions.

It seems very close using a template but the distance from the pivot point to the trailing edge was based on a best guestimate .
Would be better to try the real thing to make sure it won't hit anything.
