hello, i have recently purchased a 1975 17' stuart stevens motorcruiser.

i have done a google search for these boat and found there is not a lot of information about these boats, unlike for the shetlands for example.

does anyone know anything about these boats or know where i can find something about these boats please.

thanks.

alex.

Google "Loftus Bennet" same hull.
Might get more info.
16 to 22 footers.
70's build, could be late 60's , not too sure about when first built.
Deffo 70,s cos I had one.
Dam good little sea boat.
Built in the North West, Tough. My 20 footer had a 90 hp outboard.
Some inboards with outdrives.
Don't remember any with a shaft drive set up.
Look on "Boatshed"---- "Boats and Outboards" etc , you will see piccies of said craft.
From what I remember production ceased early 80's.
Sorry! not much help, just Google about a bit more.
Plus wait for the Experts on here to turn up.

thanks, already started to do so.

i found out it was a loftus bennet hull a few days ago from a sea fishing web site.

the chap that made the post said they were not very good as it nearly flipped him out when it hit a wave a few times.

it sounded like he was not driving it right to me though. he was probally going too fast.

thanks for the info, i am going to do a big loftus bennet search and study now.

i have seen one outdrive stevens for sale in ireland, but all the others i have seen have outboard for various sizes. i bought it with a 20hp and i have a honda 50hp to put onto it.

i think i will change the steering wheel though, it has one of those with the pegs all around it.

blue carpet tiles and new curtains and it should start looking a treat.

thanks again for the information.

cheers.
