I've been warned this stuff turns to a sticky gloop under a hot-air gun. Does anybody have experience of using paint stripper on it? What works best? For that matter, what's the best stripper in general? Grateful for all thoughts.

On the advice of the venerable Mirelle, I bought one of these on Tuesday and stripped off half the cockpit varnish in 2 hours.

Absolutely BRILLIANT!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

P.S. Buy a pointy one as well but be very careful with it jumping.

Best make sure the wood underneath isn't soft, or that you press too hard. I used one of these to strip the gelcoat and deck paint off the deck, also the antifouling off the epoxy, and very good at it, it was too.

Re: Scraper tip

I can't find "power scraper" in the catalogue. Does it have another name? Sounds useful. Look forward to your report. Maybe you could message me later in case I miss it. Thanks. JOHN
