Strippers

Hello, I'm new to this forum and will probably be posting lots of questions with 'obvious' answers, everyone's got to learn somewhere! I've recently embarked on the restoration of an Atalanta (wood laminate, hot moulded). Unfortunately she's been painted in parts with what looks like an anti-fungal primer (biscuit red). Can anyone recommend a good paint stripper, preferably water based, that won't affect the moulding.

Thanks

Paint plane

An alternative approach. Metabo (I think thats the name) do a paint plane that takes off a set number of microns (100+) from a painted surface. Because it planes antofouling instead of 'grinding' it, it can handle sticky surfaces.

Some hire shops offer them.

Is this a Fairey Atalanta?

The one with the curved tumblehome and made just after WW11 at the Fairey Aircraft Works?

Certainly is, part designed by Uffa Fox, lots of them still going strong, but many like mine needs a lot of tlc!
