I need about a yard of thin (1/16") copper or stainless steel strip about an inch or so wide to repair a damaged rudder. Anyone know where I might get this?
Try any sheet metal fabricator, they will probably sell or give you an offcut. You will probably find a suitable piece in their scrap bin. If you are near the hamble I could give you a piece 1mm thick but I don't have any 16swg.
Mick,
Try www.aalco.co.uk or try your local electrical wholesaler they will have copper strip that is used for earth bonding and for lightning arrestors.
Good luck
Trevor
Thanks to all who posted. I can get what's needed from a company called Metal Supermarkets, who have outlets in various parts of the country. Apparently they will cut what you need while you wait. However, my local blacksmith has just told me he can supply the strip.
