How do I stow my Selden gas spring Rodkicker? The instruction manual isn't clear.
Do I let it fully extend with the tackle slack and lock the boom between the main sheet and topping lift?
Do I fully retract it with the tackle tight and lock the boom?
or something else?
I assume the reason for making the kicker inactive when not under sail is to stop the seal on gas spring from fretting on a shaft or cylinder bore.
