Does anyone know of a chock set to store a delta anchor on deck?

I know that the anchor is designed to launch from a bow roller but keeping it there isn't any use to me as the hawse pipe and windlass are at the mast.

On a previous boat I used CQR chocks (located in positions to suit the delta) and two,or maybe three, screw down hoops in between. Then light line threaded about the hoops and the anchor to hold it in place. I could not find any delta chocks. It worked just fine.

CQR chocks work for me too..

The RNLI boats prior to the Shannon Class had their Deltas bolted to the foredeck, but I do not recall how. The new Shannon Class have their Spades bolted to the (fore)deck - I've only seen 'distant' images. Maybe go and have a look.

Thanks for the ideas so far.

The rusty cqr I have at the moment is on hardwood blocks with tie down lines. I am looking for a solution that doesn't involve faffing around on the coach roof with bits of string ideally as I am usually single handed and would prefer to be back in the cockpit getting under way.

If you do not want to faff around you need a bow roller!

Given your hawse pipe is at the mast - what sort of yacht is this? - you really want to store the anchor at the mast, or you need to have chain lying across the deck, or faff about disconnecting shackles. There are standard brackets to store anchors on or near the transom - could one be attached to the base of the mast so that the anchor is house vertically, fluke up. We lash a spare anchor at the mast base housed in a boot made from printers blanket, but we have a cat.

If you have a swivel - try a few links or even just a shackle between the swivel and anchor!

It is a Nicholson 32. It would look daft with a modern sticky out bow roller and I don't want to shift the weight of 50m of 10mm chain to the bows.

It looks like I shall have to continue to faff on with string.

I made a stainless steel 'shoe' about five inches long for my 10kg delta, with a threaded rod 8mm hooked over the anchor cross bar and down to the deck sole plate of the shoe. A wing nut runs down the threaded rod to pull the anchor into the tapered shoe to lock it in position. It needs fine tuning because its too fiddly getting into the wingnut, but I intend to make an extended wingnut this winter. Photo to follow next week when I'm next out to the mooring, or do as I did and copy from the foredeck of a lifeboat!
