I have a Nav 1 with an intermittent fault which I am sure I can fix if only I could take the cover off the unit. Having loosened all the obvious screws I find that the unit will come apart once I have removed the knob from the rotary switch projecting from the front panel. This knob will not pull off with the sort of persuasion I can apply by hand. Am I too weak or is there a special technique or tool I need to apply?

Should just pull apart as a complete lump from the inside, if there is a nut under the knob then take that off too as the switch is mounted on the PCB, which is in turn mounted on the rear case.

Thanks for your reply. Are you saying that the knob should just pull off? I have tried using my fingers but it won't budge. Have you any suggestions about a suitable tool?
How about a Mole wrench?
