I am in the process of re wiring my instruments and have a Stowe Log which has 4 wires attached to it. I have figured out the + the - and the Light but there is an extra Blue one (Not the transducer thats seperate) anyone know what this 4th wire is for

Regards

On the wiring diagram it is shown as a negative to the mechanical counter from which you can spur off to an optional Satnav. It is obviously not essential as someone has pencilled it through which I take to mean that it's not on mine.

If you would like the owners manual PM me with your email address.

The S/N provides open-collector pulses that sink to 0v 100 times every nautical mile. I was trying to use it to calculate the boat speed for a connection to SignalK, but it's so infrequent it's only really good for logging miles I think.
