Can anybody please indicate a (mail order) source for the square, white, soft rubbery cover for the depth sounder display! Mine has gone soft, grimy and sticky, maybe through UV radiation and / or traffic pollution. It has also shrunk a little, causing it to fall off regularly.
Any help is appreciated.

Most soft plastic covers - and fenders! - get sticky after a few years. You can use talcum powder to alleviate this. An alternative is to gather up the gelcoat / grp dust every time you've drilled a hole for some job and rub that into the sticky bit. None of this will help with a bad fit, however. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks Dave. It seems like I will have to make one myself. Possibly thin GRP with a rubber strip round the inside of the rim (for friction to keep it in place)
I notice from your bio that you had a Vivacity; I too had one and I still miss her! Fitting a new furling genoa to replace the working jib really transformed the boat. I had even fitted a little marine diesel that I used when trolling for dorado in August (not much wind at that time of year!)

I purchased a couple of weather covers from Simrad in 1995 to replace my Stowe ones.

It might be worth asking them if they are still available.

I seem to remember they weren't very cheap.

Thanks Robo. Thanks Kate.
No harm in trying. I'll do a net search to seek their email address; hopefully they will respond. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
