Evening folks,

I have one of the above, drained it and removed it today as not sure how long the water has been in there... can anyone tell me the best thing to flush it through with as the water did smell slightly and wanted to kill any nasties.

Milton Fluid as used for sterilising babies bottles or an own brand equivalent.

Failing that some thin dometic bleach, but at about 1/2 to 1/3 the concentration recommended for Milton.

Ot a proprietary water tank cleaner from a caravanning supplies place ( or even a chandler)

From an old post of mine:-
"The recommended dose for sterilising a tank with Milton fluid is 30ml per 5 litres. Allow to soak for 15 minutes and then rinse out.

For sterilising drinking water 2.5ml per 5 litres.
If you don't exceed this you should not have any trouble with foul tasting tea.

For a large tank 30ml/ 5litre can be quite a lot of Milton. If you therefore use bleach use a thin one which does not contain any detergents or thickeners and because it contains about 2.5 times the hypochlorite concentration as Milton use only about 12 ml/5litre."
