As the boat and I live near the Solent I have the luxury of not worrying about Ophelia - good luck to those affected.
XC Weather shows much worse (and much closer to me) in the small hours of next Saturday (21st) - F10 gusting F12.
Passageweather.com shows 50Kn going up the Channel at about the same time.
So that sounds like confirmation, but the Met Office has no warnings. Presumably this sort of wind would be an ex-hurricane (Philippe?), but the NOAA site doesn't suggest anything like that has formed yet.
Should we dismiss the dread warnings as a figment of the models, too far out to be meaningful? Or do we all go out and buy extra extra lines and snubbers?
I'm sure you all know more than I do about this.
Cheers
Charles
