Storm jib position

Can anyone advise what is the best position for a storm jib, as far forward as possible or can it be brought aft. I have a problem with locating the fixing point for the baby stay because it fowls on the roller reefing mechanism the only other place is at the rear of the anchor locker 30 ins aft will this affect the handling

The Pardeys claim one benefit of the cutter rig is that, as the sail plan is reduced, the center of effort moves towards the mast as does the reefed mainsail.

I think the means moving the storm jib tack point aft is a good thing as it helps promote a balanced sail plan.

Agree with the others, tack it down aft of the forestay someplace. Sounds obvious, but check that the deck will take the considerable loads involved. Most boats I know need reinforcing if damage to the deck is to be avoided.
