We ae in La Rochelle and there is no need to to explain a bombing depression to me. We seem to be pretty much in the middle of it. I have every line out, six million Fenders and if the boat escapes from my knots I will re name her Houdini. If she heels much more I think I will be able to anti foul at lest one side of the bottom. Jus been told it is forcast F12

We are up in the town behind a lock and buildings so we have some shelter. Just glad I am not down the river in Minimes which got wrecked last year in similar weather. The have apparently strengthened all the pontoons. Last year they ended up with double decker boats.

Just looked on passage weather and it is going to get worse here. There is a colour right at the end of the scale and that is what is going to be right over us soon.

I hope they are all OK

There are three of us Brits here on boats and I have never seen winds like last night. They have eased this morning to probably 5's which now seems like a summers day.
We are all ok and thank you all for your concerns.
I have five flat fenders and a ripped binicle cover which seems the only damage.
I am just going out to check on the others but they seem OK.
We were advised by a French couple when we came in what side of the pontoon to take just incase there was a strong wind and that really did help.
I know I need a new barometer after the lowest it got was fair to change and last night was well down the mid 900's somewhere.
We are all up the river behind the lock and more in the city which makes us less exposed and protected from the sea and the buildings do help. Even so the boat was being blow to huge angles and I have 5 tons of lead in the keel.

Pleased to here your still there, here the glass is rising again after high winds and rain,Galicia

Still windy to say the least but a very intresting phenomenum to be on board as it passes over you. Once is enough so I will take my T shirt and miss out on the next one thank you. Apparently the Atlantic swell has been huge and they have put out a warning saying only boats of over 100ft or m should be out and only if there is nothing else they can do.
