Storm in Atlantic

The weather charts are showing a revolving storm called Maria out in the Atlantic heading this way over the next few days. Appreciate any learned comments on likely weather from Thursday for next week, 'sposed to be away sailing for the week, starting to look a little unlikely? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

That looks interesting, according to weatheronline its a hurricane...so guess we'll get some swell by Monday/Tuesday...then its probably messed up my ideas of sailing to the Scillies the weekend after!

It should die out as it gets over the cooler waters pretty soon and it could fill or head well north...just have to watch and see.

models are currenlty prediciting that it will shave the w coast of Brit Isles and track NE losing its identity during Thurs/Fri/Sat. But a bit too early to call yet, methinks.

Take a look at the depresion to the west of Maria, its possibly going to turn to a Hurricane and has a westward movement, could be another bad storm for the yanks?!

Be a shame if the best test series for years is decided by the weather, but that's cricket.

We have arranged our department's annual sailing jolly to the IoW for the weekend of the 17th, so if past experience is anything to go on it will pee down with rain and blow a hooley in the south of England.
