stop bronze/brass tarnishing

Hi, Has anybody found a substance I can coat my polished bronze and brass fittings with to stop them from tarnishing.

More as an experiment than anything I coated brass finishing rings for portholes with aerosol clear laquer from Halfords. Its thinners-based so anything to be treated should be away from varnish.
I did the rings and an old brass compass which sits atop the coachhouse three months ago and the tarnish has been held at bay apart from on the screw heads which were not treated.
I don't yet know how it will hold up against UV, but I am resigned to recoating on a regular basis anyway.

For the record I wouldn't bother with attempting to stop bronze achieving a patina.

A coating of clear epoxy should do the trick.

Why bother? Dont you have enough maintenace to do! Allow it to tarnish to that wonderful patina.
