Anyone know where I can buy a small tin? I've found a tub of the stuff on Classic Marine's website at £15 but I only need a small tin just to give the boat a nice whiff. I think that knot tying guy with the beard and the red beret used to sell it at shows in small quantities and if I could remember his name or find his website I'd be a happy man!

Beat me to it ... just remembered his name myself, tried his website where a link takes you to Classic Marine which is where I started! I do remember him selling little screw top tins at a boat show for a fiver or so ... should have bought one then! Somebody must sell small quantities.

Just found small tins of liquid stockholm tar on E-Bay at £5.95 ... seems to be for chickens' feet and horses' hooves but I suppose it's the same stuff ... 500ml so enough for the whole yacht club i should think ... only want a drop for the chain locker!

A local farrier should be able to sell you a small amount.
I had a litre tub of the stuff from Toplicht, a German chandler for use in a goop for dressing galvanised wire rope rigging... until it got pinched by an ex girlfriend for her nag's hooves.
