Medreamer and I were chatting earlier and wonder is it just us or does everyone else think;

1. Winter has just gone on a little too long now, time to go away

2. Warmer days are still too far away

3. Excitement of getting out on the boat more regular is starting to creep in

4. Even though you are really busy with important work, your thoughts wonder to what you are going to do when you get aboard, until the Production Director asks you what you think of what he just said, and you work your best bluff statement.

5. MBM drops on your mat, and you actually drop everything else to read it

6. You trawl the forum looking for things to comment on, but nothing excites you

7. You have left the maps/books/instructions for the radar/gps/plotter on the boat, so you cant plan anything, and think about buying a second copy (martyn number 1.)

8. You ring other boaty people (which is very welcome by the way) because you need an infusion of excitement and sense from someone who understands how you feel, becuase no one else really understands.

9. You go through the old Mailspeed boat catalogue again, just because you might have missed something last time.

But then again it could just be us, and everyone else is just very patient.........

At 12.15 this afternoon I spoke to SWMBO and she informed me MBM had arrived. So i have jumped in the car, driven the 75 miles home and am now looking at it, reading this forum and 'working from home'! Stir crazy...Yep

Do you think we could persuade those nice people in the Inland Revenue office to join in.

At the moment the bloo*y s*ds spend all their time working out new wheezes to rob me of all my money ............. and they're winning.

Perhaps a day's trip out on my new Mangusta 105 will satisfy them that I am broke and they'll leave me alone.

Only kidding, Mr. Revenue, honestly.

My plan backfired. I bought C map PC planner, so I can prepare routes that we're going to take on the next trip. Problem is, every waypoint you mark just reminds you of one more place you'd rather be than stuck in your f*!?!*g office!

Hi Peter

You could always send your local tax office a picture of your boat, and a nice invite to join you at the 'club' and go for a spin sometime. I am sure that will ensure a nice response - perhaps they will even put your picture on their notice board as a sign of appreciation, ignoring the faded label saying 'hit list'

Hi Martyn

Can I have some of whatever you're on? My rose tinted glasses have just broken.

But, you're absolutely right. Stir crazy? I hate the winter. Go to work in the dark, go home in the dark. I don't do cold, I don't wet (unless I'm on the boat), and I certainly don't do "be nice to the inland revenue" trips. Are they the only people who assume you're guilty and it is your responsibility to prove your innocence?

Oh hell, I'm off again. Someone calm me down.
