Our boat. Was hoping to go to SIBS and used shows as a cash buyer (mortgage that is). Will any companies be offering descent part ex offers on new or even used do you think?
Cheers
Depends on how much you are willing to spend. Sales of the Jeanneu 30/34 Prestige have been poor this year so some deals around on those. Ancaster are always willing to do a deal on a new Bavaria but I am not sure on Sealine. Essex will deal on anything, the more sticky a boat that they have the better a price you will get in PX. On the new front a deal on a Doral is not out of the question.
I suppose it depends on What you want and the price differential??
I am sure there will be companies offering PX deals, but weather you consider them decent or not is another question.
I would expect the realistic trade value of a boat to be actual retail less broker fees less 20%, so on a 50K boat I would expect to receive about £37k. Of course, the value will be dressed up by mitigating some potential discount. As always, the cost to change figure is the important one
the Jeaneau 34 Presige is a nice looking boat, saw one during my trip and was positively impressed I like her outside
on my next show I will try to have a better look, even the Bavaria 35 is a nice one which gave me a good impression
tough if i had to choose will definitly go for the Jeaneau, it looks more of a quality boat and the cockpit is less cramped, the Jeaneau also wins for upper deck and cockipt communication
Good Luck on the Trade I am sure a good compromise in your favour can be reached
I part exchanged my old boat 18 months ago at Excel, I had advertised it over the previous year for about £15K and took £11 part ex (Having declined £12.5K whilst for sale!!!... common story I understand). Anyway, I figured that for me, getting my boating plans moving was worth taking the part ex hit. My choice was limited however to those boats who's dealers would take part ex. Luckyly the boat I had at the top of my shortlist was included.
