Unless it's cotton sails, I think you will have a hard time getting dye to soak into the sailcloth with an even shade, if at all.

Bob, as explained in some of your other threads on the subject, we need to know what material. The fact that it is man made isn't enough. Nylon can be dyed with pretreatment and acid hot dyes, polyester cannot. You need to get someone to identify the material before we can advise further, and the advice won't change, no matter how many times you post here and on pbo
