Sticky tender

I have an ageing inflatable tender which I keep on the dinghy pontoon. It has become very sticky to the touch along both side tubes and I've tried cleaning it with soap/jiff etc. to no avail.
Anybody had similar problems and cured it, or can suggest what to try?

Mine went like that. It is the PVC degraded by the sun. It is marginally possible that the paint that can be used to re-finish a PVC boat, may solve the problem - Me I just said that it had come to the end of its life and bouht a replacement.

Same happens to fenders.

Manually scape off as much as you can with a blunt tool. The rest will polish off with a petroleum solvent based polish like T-Cut or Farecla.

Apply a protective layer of something designed to protect PVC boats in the sun (can't help with that bit, but I think it exists!).
