You may have read my thread "Perfect Day ..." about the vibration my shaft before shearing and dropping a propeller.

All fixed and boat back in the water - new shaft, repaired shaft and two rebalanced/refinished props. Remedial work required pulling shafts, steering and rudders and reinstalling. The guy who did the work is awesome and I trust the quality of this work without exception

Here's my question...

Going to head out for short trip tomorrow - what precautions would you take with your boat after having such repair done?

Keen to hear your advice.

Would be good to have the guy who did the work on board to check all ok, other than that I would warm up at a slow displacement speed checking for leaks and vibrations then slowly increase revs , if all ok take for a good run,
Keeping the grab bag and life raft close by :)

Had a similar experience this weekend.
Boat was re launched on Friday after having a new rudder and repaired props installed.
Luckily my engineer (Tompa Marine) stayed with the boat for the launch and took her for a bible on the Hamble.

Took the boat for a good blat to Osborne Bay on Saturday to check things out, result all is good
