Stern tube sealing

Would be grateful for your advice re the stern tube on my Cobra 750.

I have removed the cutlass bearing housing to renew the bearing, and the stern tube unscrewed as well.

When I refit this how might I best seal the stern tube again. In the pics you can see where it screws back into the stern gland, and you can see a recess around where the stern tube will sit. Should I just clean this recess up, and when the stern tube is refitted, fill the recess with a polysulphide sealant??

Thanks skatt, not used that one before. I'll look it up.

I would like to have a stern tube rubber seal, but as you can see the set up doesn't allow for it so the only thing I can do is have sealant on the thread, in the recess and around the tube I guess?
