A little advice sought if i may... If i'm fitting a transom mounted stern light on a rivergoing motorlaunch, which side should it go on, or should it go in the middle?

Thanks in advance!
Andy

I would place it as reasonably as possible on the centerline - ours is just off to starboard on the railing

Theoretically, in the middle, but it does not really matter. I would be inclined to choose the side on which you are more likely to be overtaken, if anything.

Ideally on centreline .... but if not possible - then it can be mounted anywhere that gives it the correct angle and field.

You could even if necessary mount on back end of wheelhouse overhang - as long as it is not masked by other objects.

The light does not "mark" exact aft centre of a boat ... it is to show that a boat is there !
