Stern Kick

While my Moody 31 is out of the water, is there anything I (or someone with more practicality) can do to reduce the quite violent stern kick (to starboard)? It seems to have worsened after re-stuffing the stern gland last year.
Any ideas please?

Do you mean it steers hard on one side than the other.
My old boat did that ,the only conclusion I could come up with was misalignment of the prop or stern tube .Wierd thing is you say it only started when you restuffed the stern gland ,start by redoing it also check for wear in tube and cutlass bearing .It may be you inadvertently tightened the gland too much on one side and with some wear in the cutlass bearing the shaft is not true !!.
At 0802 am that's the best I can do ,I'm off down my moorings to anty vandalise with lots of barbed wire

Do you mean she kicks to starboard when going astern, ie prop-walk? If so there is not much you can do about except to try and make it work for you such as choose a port hand turn in to a marina berth where possible.
