hi all ,
ass some of you are aware i,am rebuiding a sports fisher at the moment,i,ve just ab0ut finished re-mouting the engine and the outdrive unit,next on the agender is sorting out the steering gear,at the moment there is absolutly nothing fitted,the engine is a 75 horse diesel coupled to a sonic outdrive...what steering system you you fit and why????.I havn,t taken pro advise yet so need your input from practical experience...ease of installment etc etc

Best sort to fit, ease and cost, would be a push pull cable system. Cost wise i reckon your looking at about £150 for a ok'ish set up. If your feeling flush then hydraulic system would be on the cards. Talking £600 mark for a decent system. You can get cheaper but they're not that good. Give keypart a call. they do a complete system in a box for the push pull thing or vetus for the hydraulic. There is a bit of a budget system by seastar, but it depends how much torque the drive produces. Its the same old story you gets what you pays for! Hope this helps!
