I am fitting a navico wp 100 autopilot and as it has to be fitted onto a flat bulkhead , not a steering column, the wheel has to be moved back to allow the wp 100 to fit in between .
In the fitting guide it talks about a " whitlock extension " , which seems to be an extension which fits onto the steering box shaft and shifts the wheel back enough .
Has anyone heard of or experienced this type of fitting , please ?
