Steering Wheel Clip-on

Afternoon everyone, does anyone knows if I can get some Steering Wheel Clip-on ( sample arrow on the pic) to mark a 0-degree steering course? I have some webbing for that, but it is tiny and I keep messing up in strong tides with our 2 rudders.

P.S. I know that the wheel pictured is folding. I just need one of these to use with my none-folding wheel

The thing in the picture is the hinge for the folding wheel spoke. So what you're looking for is just any sort of marker for your wheel.

I have a strip of leather sewn around the rim, tying a Turk's head knot with cordage is traditional, or if you really need something chunkier you could clamp on almost anything (plumbing fittings, pieces of phone mount, shaft anodes...) that's designed to go round tubing of the appropriate size. I'm not aware of anything that sort of size sold for the purpose.

Exactly what I thought. The only reason for the large objects in the picture is to lock the hinged wheel rim in the open position. I have a tiny cable tie I can feel with my finger and would use a Turk's head knot if I wanted something larger. Electrical tape would probably melt in Greece.:D

OP could just slide on some coloured tubing if he needed something visible on one spoke. Easy enough to make a slit in the tubing. Or use pretty much anything as PRV points out. I can't see anyone making money from sales of something only intended to act as a marker on a steering wheel.
 
I forced myself to learn how to tie a Turk‘s head knot for this purpose. No need to look, just feel it to bring the wheel amidships. Only problem was taking the time out to actually make a neat, vaguely ornamental looking knot: took me an hour of fiddling tying them round the boat hook handle before producing one round the wheel of a standard acceptable to the Admiral....
 
A nice wooden steering know would indicate the centre helm position but also all the wheel to be turned single handed and quickly if need be

Yes particularly those racing yachts where the is a grove in the cockpit sole for the ginormous wheel.

It does not have to be fitted to the outer rim, it could be fitted to the inner rim (like the one I made) or if the wheel has one or to one of the spokes.

I think it would be very tiring to try using a handle clamped on one of the spokes at a reasonable distance from the rim. Certainly impossible to use on many boats with an unbalanced rudder when reversing. It might keep me alert by cracking my shins or hitting nether regions.:D

Well if it's not to your taste you can just ignore my suggestion. It may suit some applications as pvb posted.

You might be awake but would you be focused on keeping a look out for ships or worrying about your nether regions?

That would only be concern to people who stand very close to the wheel.

The knob on the wheel only sticks out 30/40mm so anyone who would be worrying about your nether regions must be close enough to be making love with their wheel.

When I am on passage either the autopilot is steering or I am sitting on the windward side steering with one hand. It only steering in close quarters that I stand at the wheel where a knob like this could help quick wheel turning
 
I bought my wife a Lewmar folding wheel for her last birthday ;) I adorned it with a turk's head on our short trip to Lefkas in August

Essential equipment for completing are small lacing needle and a pair of surgical needle holders.
