Folks,
Cranchi Zaffiro 34 on 2 x KAD 32's attached to 290 out-drives

The Steering angle indicator is a little bit off, showing slightly to starboard when the out-drives are infact straight. I can see the mechanism on the inside of the transom and have easy enough access to it, I just have no idea how to adjust it.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks :)

DAKA :D

Google is getting me nowhere. I'm almost certain I saw a thread about it here before.... but alas doing the forum searches is getting me nowhere :(

I really need to check these things more... I assumed it would be a Volvo, but for some reason VDO keeps sticking in my head

See attached a pic of the gauge

Does look like a VDO, in which case, the sender has three slotted screws, slacken and turn the sender until the gauge reads correctly. Note that although the legs might look straight ahead whilst stationary, things might be different under way.

This might help (if it's VDO) : http://www.vdo.com/generator/www/co...cator_ruderlageanzeiger_uv.pdf?redirect=false

That's exactly the info I was looking for, thank you so much!

I noticed that the gauge was pointing 1 'notch' to starboard when I was going in a straight line (on the plane) last week, so i'll start with that and then fine tune

Thank you so much :D

Didnt the bucket work

might want to mark the indicator position while underway with a felt tip.

when you are back on your berth leave the rudder so the indicator is in line with your felt tip mark.
Now adjust the sender until the indicator is central.

Dont forget to remove the bucket ;)
