Steel epoxy. - a permanent repair?

I posted a thread from a few days ago re pinhole leak in copper pipe on VP 2003 cooling water pipe. Repaired it with this - Super Steel Epoxy by Plastic Padding - here. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Plastic-Pa...ords=plastic+padding+liquid+steel+pipe+repair

So far, so good. But would you expect this to be a good permanent repair, or should I replace the pipe? Priced it today, £70 all in. :-(

As far as that leak is concerned, it's a permanent repair if the preparation work was good. Whether the pipe is too thin and susceptible to further leaks is a different question.

I havw a honda 9 hp where one off the 3 legson the casting holding the pull start broke off 20 years ago epoxied it still holding

Steel Epoxy from Plastic Padding is as good as a filler repair gets. For decades it has been used on medium sized diesel crank cases. Many a grey Fergie has a splodge or 2 and the repairs remain good.
My +1 comes from a repair the the water jacket of a 76 hp Ford Dover 2722E engine. As has been said, preparation is everything, I ground out a new surface to the crack, drilled holes along the line and at the ends then squeezed some though as wll as filling and smearing over.

Thanks all. Prep was good, and a full wrap round the 15mm dia copper tube was achieved so sounds like it should be ok
