I have just bought a Steadfast 30 and I am keen to know more about the background to the boats but there is very little information online. Can anyone help with any details? I had heard that they were built at the Victoria Yachts in Warsash, Southampton.
Kind regards, Colin

This is the info that I have:

Hi there

I have a steadfast 24 and know a bit about the history of the boats, would be great to have a chat.

Pm me if I can help

Thanks

I cant tell you much about the Steadfasr 30, but the Steadfast 24 was originally built at the Rampart yard in Southampton. Production was transferred to Warsash when we took over that yard and built under the Victoria Rampart/Victoria Yachts banner. Sales of the 24 were transferred to David Harrison who formed Steadfast Yachts although they continued to be built by Victoria Rampart. The Steadfast 30 was built after I left the company.

Hi, we have a Steadfast 24 and would like to increase our knowledge of the craft, ours was built in 1986 at Victoria boatyard in Woolston.

I used to have a Master 30 which was the earlier version of the Steadfast 30. Unfortunately that was over ten years ago now so my encyclopedic knowledge of the make/type has disappeared somewhat from lack of use! There is a test report done on the Steadfast 30 which gave some history I believe. If memory serves correct that was around 1987. It's either PBO or MBY and the Copy Service have it.
The Master's were built in the late 70's and I believe I had one of the last ones which was 1981 build (I think there was less than 10 made). They were fin or bilge keel. The moulds were then sold to a company that built them as Steadfast from Warsash. Master 30 was made in Guernsey. I think there were less Steadfasts built - suspect they weren't cost effective which is a shame as it is a very nice boat.

Hello,
I have just bought a Steadfast 30 that needs a bit of TLC! Have any Steadfast owners on here changed the windows? They have aluminium frames and from my understanding it may be difficult to change the frames due to the age and the fact the aluminium extrusions used may not be easy to find?

Welcome to the forum

Aluminium framed windows were very common at the time so not unique to your boat. Yes, they do suffer from corrosion mainly because they are held together with stainless steel fastenings and usually stuck with strong sealant. However not beyond DIY, at least the removal and there are specialists who refurbish them if it is beyond you.
