I'm now the pround owner of one! It would be great to hear from any other steadfast owners out there ! I can't find an owners site anywhere and I would be intrested in starting one if others are up for it

Thanks

Chris

As a one time owner of a Cox 22 motor sailer I have always followed the STEADFAST enthusiasts in case I go there again. However, I cannot imagine such a hull is capable of sailing anywhere near the wind AND motoring quickly and quietly wherever I want to go. Steadfast has always advertised it is capabale of sailing and motoring to equalk effect but I simply cannot believe this. A sail boat cannot perform properly and motor as well. I am not sure what the answer is; I loved the Cox's caravan like interior with huge capacity for a small family.....but sailing into wind was almost impossible and I remain to be convinced the S/fast is any better. Humphhhhh !

I aim to prove you wrong! Why shouldn't it sail, other owners i have spoken to say it's fine within reasonable limits. I looked at the cox 22 and the master mariner in detail and they are VERY different to the steadfast in hull shape and keel config. The steadfast has a proper keel arrangement and is a trad bilge keel yacht design. It's maybe slightly wider than say a virgo but I think it's a good middle ground. I like the interior these type of boats have, but I have to admit the cox did win on visablilty from the interior helm position. Anyway I just wanted to make contact with other owners to start some useful discussions about these boats. Wasn't trying to start a competition! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey, I've got a Steadfast 30. Not the fastest sailer, but it sails well enough upwind with little leeway. We think it's a great boat.

Sorry if the pop ups are there I was just using a free web hosting service for the mo. If I get enough intrest in the site I will pay for a proper service and hopefully reduce the pop ups!

Thanks

Just spend the weekend on her and got the sails up for the first time! It's fanatastic! and she sails very well all things considered.

Rath thanks for posting, get in contact when you have time. I would be very intrested in a chat about your project.

Cheers

New port Isvik

I am the new owner of a Steadfast 24 (Isvik) and sailing on Lake Neuchatel in Switzerland. Sorry may be the faults, I do not speak English well and use the Google translator to communicate.
I wish all the owners of 24 Steadfast a great end of season.

Re.Steadfast 24 sailing ability

I have had my Steadfast 11 years,it is fin keel with the 18hp engine. We sail on the wild Welsh coast.Weather is unpredictable. Setting out on passage a forecast of 2/3 became 75 kts/force 12 on the nose.A tiny bit of headsail gave a steady 7kts over 20 miles with dingy in tow. A very wild sail. The boat was fantastic. Sails as well and better than many,90 degree inc, tack angle. Interior amazing space and comfortable.
