Ok so we were planning to pop by the Canaries before heading south to Senegal and across the pond. However, it seems really interesting and we like hiking, paragliding, diving, climbing and surfing... It has all these! So we might stay for a year or so.

With that in mind, we don't want to sign up to a marina for a year as we'll be moving around a lot. However, a lot of the marinas totally screw you for short stays and even 30/60 days when returning home for a bit.

I'd be keen to here from people who've been here for a while and have specific recommendations of places to leave the boat and so forth.

Current anchored off Graciosa and sailing to the out island of Aleggranza today :encouragement:

We have been down here for 3 years , personal fave is Las Palmas but you are stuck with finding an berth when the ARC is in town, with a close second of Rubicon in lanzarote but a huge difference in price , not keen on the local govt run ports other than for short visits.

My personal favourite is San Sebastian on La Gomera. Good discount on long term stays and a little off the tourist beaten track.
