I am having problems starting my engine. The morse control needs a lot of wriggles in neutral before it starts.I Have had a look inside the control but no microswitch.I have been told the switch is on the gearbox.Has anybody had the same problem?

Check for a thread on Morse controls, someone had the same issue last week.

there are two switches on the back of your gearbox.
only one is upright and has two screws on the top, join the two wire to the same screw and try it.

If it starts you may need a new switch (i can sell you one for £20 inc p7p) it is above the oil level and an easy diy job, like changing a spark plug.
if it doesnt start then it may be the starter relay, they are as easy to change as a fuse, I could sell you one of those too for £10 inc p&p but you will have me running out of spares at this rate !

If you dont understand the replies on the other thread I think you would be best asking a mechanic to take a look.

Thanks Daka that all sounds simple, off down the boat for a week Monday so I will check it out.You sound like someone who is usefull to know how, do I contact you if I need the part?

take a photo to confirm it is a HS63 / ZF63
Check the relay number as embossed on it .

I havent got a clue really , I just make a lucky guess every now and again
here's a guess at your starter relay number ;)

BOSCH PART NUMBER 0 332 209 150

If it turns out to be cable adjustment or a stretched cable I can email you a 1000 page manual by pdf of which 3 pages will be relevant to you.

Post after the weekend to let us know after you have narrowed it down a bit more, there will be others reading this that know a lot more than I do just waiting for more detail.

If you do need a part and cant get one off the shelf at a reasonable cost then pm me .

I am not a parts supplier, I just go a bit OTT with on board spares .

Thanks again Daka
I am down on the boat for a week stating Monday so unless the dongle on my computer works(unlikely) it will be a while before I report back but it does seem to point to cable adjustment. I will pm you with my email address
